Shabneez has set our challenge over at Daring Cardmakers this week - she'd like to hear it for the bees! They're fantastic little creatures and so many things in the modern environment pose a threat to them, I'm happy to have any excuse to celebrate bees.
Some bees have something called a "waggle dance" - they use it to "talk" to their hive mates and tell them the direction and distance to go for patches of pollen. I thought dancing bees might well be celebrating!I was lazy and used the die as a stencil rather than cutting one - I think it worked OK for this kind of slightly grungy look. I splattered over the inking with gold paint for a hint of honey!

Wonderful card, I love the textured honeycomb it looks so cool! Michelle x
Being super allergic to yellow jackets (although I think they are actually in wasp family) bees can really scare me...on the other hand I have zero problem with the ones I call "hummers"...big fat fuzzy bumbles that make a low hum. I garden sitting on the ground, so they pass me by at head level...it is when they start hanging around you pointedly you have to pay attention. Their homes are in the ground and only have a finger sized hole for an entrance, so it is not hard to accidentally encroach or even sit on them! We post poles w flags to let us know where they are. They are also so cute when they sun themselves on my window ledge. :)
I like that idea of the gold paint for honey! I may steal that! And the bee coloring. Wings are impossible for me.
Hugs Margot
