Combining the bubble border with a butterfly image was actually my first idea for January’s “Winged Things” challenge at Lost Coast Designs but I got sidetracked into other projects along the way. I have managed to get the idea out of my head and onto a card before the challenge ends though.
I’m also playing again at We Love Stamping where this month’s theme is “new”. The very pretty sentiment is new — it’s from another of the Katzelkraft sets I bought recently.I used a Copic marker to fill in the black at the edge and the butterfly is watercoloured. The wings are bent up a little so it looks like she’s just landed and there’s some gentle sparkle courtesy of Wink of Stella. Having chopped off her antennae when I fussy cut the butterfly, I drew some new ones with a quick flick of a fineliner.
Stamps:
Bubble border (Lost Coast Designs)

Your border looks beautiful especially with the layout of the card. Thanks for joining us at We love Stamping.
Love this. That border is fantastic and that was a good idea to cut off the antennae. No-one should be expected to fussy cut those and they look brilliant drawn in. You are right about the sentiment too, it is very pretty. Thanks for your visit and kind comment the other day. Things are definitely returning to normal now xx
Such a stunning border, Joanne - a perfect spot for the butterfly to land!! Love it!!
Such an effective way to use the border stamps and great use of colour to draw the eye to the individual elements, lovely to see you at We Love Stamping challenge, thanks so much.

The heat embossing is a great idea for keeping colors apart and yours are so pretty. I think CAS is a technique because you have to keep the design simple and clean. Thanks for joining our challenge at Time Out!
Beautifully creative card! Love everything about it!
